International Office of University of Economics, Prague hosted a Welcome Back Event
On the occasion of celebrating 20 years since the Czech Republic joined the educational programme Erasmus, International Office of University of Economics, Prague hosted the first Welcome Back event for its outgoing students who returned from their exchange in Europe or overseas in the past academic year. The aim of this event was to share and follow up on students’ experience gained abroad.
One of the main speakers at the event was the CEO of the non-profit organization People in Need, Šimon Pánek, who shared his experience in working at the international level and during the discussion he motivated students to fully exploit the potential of their newly gained experience.
The invitation to the event was accepted also by the former VSE student Kateřina Štětková who spent her semester abroad at WU Wien. Kateřina Štětková currently works in an international company as a part of HR Recruitment Team and she claims that having experience from abroad is a crucial competitive advantage of each applicant on the labour market.
Furthermore, the best videos and photos from students’ semester abroad were announced and awarded at the event. The winner of the photo contest is Anna Alekseeva from the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, the winner of the video contest is Dita Janáčková from the Faculty of International Relations.
International Office of University of Economics, Prague sends about 1 000 students to nearly 50 countries all over the world annually. The next selection procedure for the exchange programme will take place at the beginning of the summer semester of the academic year 2018/19.
