International Strategy of Škoda Auto
Martin JAHN, Chief Human Resources Officer, Škoda Auto a.s. will give a lecture in English on Monday, April 16, 2007 at 11 a.m., lecture hall C.
After graduating from the Economic University, Prague, Faculty of International Relations, in 1994, he took a position with CzechInvest, a governmental agency. In 1996, he became director of the agency’s overseas branch in the USA (Chicago), where he concurrently studied marketing and communications at the DePaul University and graduated with an MBA Diploma. In 1999, he was appointed General Director of CzechInvest. In that function, he was responsible for some of the most significant foreign investment ventures in the Czech Republic, e.g., the TPCA automobile factory in Kolín and the DHL Center for Management of Information Technologies in Prague. Furthermore, he was in charge of the preparation and implementation of programs supporting economic development funded by the EU.
In August 2004, he accepted the post of Vice-premier for Economy. In that function, he concentrated primarily on betterment of the country’s business environment, support for scientific research and innovations, as well as strategic management of human resources in the CR.
Since February 2006, he has been Member of the Board of Management, Chief Human Resources Officer of Škoda Auto a.s. Czech Republic. Mr. Martin Jahn is also a member of the Executive Board of the University of Economics, Prague.
