Hello international students. Buddy System is here for you!

Non-profit student organization Buddy System is here to help you during your stay in Prague. Buddy System brings you together with Czech students who are ready to help you with anything you need and they do it for FREE.

Your buddy helps you to overcome the initial difficulties in a foreign country and is ready to give you advice during the whole semester. Czech buddy meets you at the airport or any arrival place and takes you to the dormitory. He or she helps you to arrange all the papers and identification cards, not just at the dormitory but also at school. This is still not everything. Your buddy also assists you to get the tram pass, helps you to orientate in a new city or goes for the first shopping with you.

All these services are for FREE. Czech students want to do it. Do you ask why? Simply because they are interested in meeting new friends from different countries, learning about other cultures, practicing their foreign language skills and also getting some extra points for their application process for studying abroad.

Buddy system is active during the whole semester and organizes sport, cultural and entertaining events for foreign students and their buddies. The 1st trip you can join is the Icebreaking Weekend. The aim of this weekend is to “break the ice together”, which means not just among you – the foreign students -but also between you and the members of Buddy System. The program is full of games and team activities in order that you have a great opportunity to meet other foreign students before the beginning of the semester.

Among trips that are organized each semester belong for example tour to brewery and restaurant U Fleků in Prague, Karlštejn Castle Trip, Pilsen Trip, two-day-trip to Moravia with a night in the wine cellar and many others. Buddy System organizes also trips to Poland – Krakow and to Germany – Dresden. Also sport activities are included, for example rope centre, paintball or sky diving. Other activities are Czech movies with English subtitles or traditional Beer Rally. For all these activities you can register in the Buddy System office RB 548.

And what would the semester abroad be without great parties? Buddy System organizes student Nation2Nation Parties regularly every Tuesday. There are countries presentations, welcome drinks, tasting of the typical meals and drink specialties prepared by students. There are also special parties as Award Ceremony, St.Nicholas Party or Boat Party with a romantic view of a night Prague.
