Global oikos meeting brings sustainable architecture to VSE
Students and employees are invited mainly to the evening on “Sustainable Architecture: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”. This event will be held as part of “oikos Spring Meeting 2011” on Thursday 24th March from 19:45 in the room RB 101 in English.
Student organization oikos Prague hosts from 24th till 27th March at the University of Economics, Prague a global „oikos Spring Meeting 2011“. Organizers expect around 100 participants from Europe, the USA or even Bangladesh.
Part of the programme on „Sustainable Architecture: Space for Living“ is open to all students and employees of the university, who are invited to the evening named “Sustainable Architecture: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”. This event is going to be held on Thursday 24th March from 19:45 in the room RB 101.
Speaker line-up includes renowned Czech expert on energy efficiency Petr Vogel (CZGBC, EkoWATT), who is going to speak about energy performance and future potential of 20th century buildings. He is going to be followed by two young promising architects Jiří Pavlíček (Echorost) and Tomáš Rousek (A-ETC). The former is going to present cutting-edge global trends in current sustainable architecture, drawing from his experience from the famous London-based Foster + Partners. Tomáš Rousek, who among others cooperated with NASA, is going to share his view on sustainable architecture for the centuries to come and maybe even on other planets.
Apart from this event, an excursion to the National technical library on 24th March 14:45-17:30 led by architect Petr Lešek is also open for public. Advance registrations at info@oikos-praha.org are necessary, capacity is limited.
