Central and East European Studies Program: Application for Spring Semester 2013
Do not miss a great opportunity to improve your professional skills in Prague and the Czech Republic through the Central and East European Studies Program (CESP)!
Applications deadline for Spring Semester: 1 December 2012
The Central and East European Studies Program (CESP) is a free-mover self-financed program for students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels founded at the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE) in 1992. CESP is an optional one or two semester program taught in English. The program focuses on issues in Central and East European economies, societies and cultures. Remarkable changes in Central and Eastern Europe have generated considerable interest in the economies and cultures of these nations. Many young people feel that it would be interesting and useful to know some basic facts about new economic doctrines in the region. In addition, they have the opportunity to gain some personal experience with life and the social atmosphere of this area.
The program’s objective is to offer foreign students something they cannot have at their home universities – the opportunity to reside in and experience the dynamic, exciting way of life in Central and Eastern Europe. The program is enriched with fieldtrips to some of the most successful traditional Czech factories such as car manufacturer Škoda Auto, a.s. or brewing company Plzeňský Prazdroj, a.s. Cultural activities are included as well.
Classes take place at the VŠE campus and are taught in English by professional teachers and Czech business people working at the university or at other prominent organizations such as electricity conglomerate ČEZ, a.s. All courses have been fully accredited and reviewed by the Academic Accreditation Committee of VŠE. The program provides a certificate of accomplishment and an official transcript accredited by VŠE. Each course offered at CESP is worth of 7 ECTS credits.
