Student Mobility at the University of Economics, Prague in 2012
The University of Economics, Prague (VŠE) is proud to have bilateral agreements with more than 200 partner universities all around the world. The universities are from North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia and New Zealand. In Europe, the main program for exchanging students is the Erasmus Program supported by the European Commission. Our institution cooperates with many prestigious universities and when signing a new contract, quality and reputation are always the most important factors. In addition to the regular exchange program, students can also come as Freemovers through the CESP Program.
In 2012, there were incoming 556 students studying at the University of Economics, Prague for at least one semester as exchange students. In addition, there were 143 students participating in one of the summer university programs. The biggest number of students, due to bilateral agreements through the exchange program and students coming through CESP, was from the U.S.A. As the three biggest nations in terms of incoming student mobility, there were 241 students coming from the United States, followed by 86 students from France and 55 students from Germany.
The number of incoming students is growing every year, and this is one of the main strategies of the university’s internationalization. In academic year 2012/2013, there were almost 400 incoming exchange students studying via the exchange program. For the next academic year, we expect the number to go up to almost 500 students as there are 310 students coming for fall semester and we expect approximately 180 more to come for spring 2014. The biggest nations in terms of incoming students tend to be the same every year.
