CEMS students won BCG Strategy Cup
On Friday, November 14, 2014 a team of four students of the CEMS Programme Sabina Kabusheva, Tomáš Kalenda, Martin Žák and Karel Kotoun – named SPITFIRE, participated in the competition BCG Strategy Cup organized by Boston Consulting Group. Among a fierce competition of 38 teams coming from various academic programmes and universities such as IES, CERGE-EI, ČVUT and other CEMS students, team SPITFIRE was able to secure a victory.
Another CEMS students’ team, who advanced into the top 8 teams, was a team called KLMN composed of students Nina Jakešová, Lukasz Juskiewicz, Kalpi Mittal and Melle Tsz Wan Lin.
The competition started a week before when all the documents needed for the case competition have been handed over to all participants. Due to the CEMS Career Forum in Vienna, the team SPITFIRE started working on the case with a little delay.
“My teammates managed to send the final draft a minute before the deadline.” says Karel Kotoun and laughs.
“It was a great and irreplaceable experience.” wholeheartedly mentions Sabina Kabusheva.
“We would definitely recommend attending this event to all people interested in consulting, because it really brings out the best of you.” shares Karel Kotoun his experience with this event.
The BCG Strategy Cup is an annual event open internationally to find the best students with a potential for a consulting career. The winners have chance to discuss with BCG consultants and are awarded a prize of 50,000 CZK. We hope that the next year will be as successful as this one.
