VŠE awarded with Czech National CEEPUS Office Prize Amadeus 2014
The official celebration for The Czech National CEEPUS Office Prize 2014 took place at Prague at The Centre for International Cooperation in Education (DZS) on May 21, 2015. The University of Economics, Prague (VŠE) was awarded for the realization of the project Amadeus of the program CEEPUS. The event was part of an information campaign at the CEEPUS National Meeting organized by DZS in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic.
For 2014, three international university networks were awarded. The University of Economics, Prague (VŠE) is a partner of the Amadeus University network that is coordinated by Vienna University of Economics and Business (Wirtschafts Universität Wien). In total, 15 universities from 13 countries in Central and Eastern Europe take part in the network.
The awarded universities’ representatives were presented the award certificates by Mr. Jindřich Fryč, Director of Policy Coordination and International Affairs Department, and Ms. Elisabeth Sorantin from Austria, the Secretary General of the Central CEEPUS Office. The University of Economics, Prague (VŠE) was represented by the rector prof. Hana Machková, the head of the International office of VŠE Ms. Dana Brázdová and the university coordinator of program CEEPUS Ms. Radka Vaváková.
The CEEPUS program is a Central European university exchange project focusing on regional cooperation within the university networks. The University of Economics, Prague has been part of it since 1996. In addition to exchanges between teachers and students, the Amadeus Project enables partner universities to also participate in a two-semester program called the JOSZEF Project (Junge Ost- und mitteleuropäische Studenten als Zukünftige Erfolgreiche Führungskräfte/Young East and Central European Students as Future Successful Managers) at Vienna University of Economics and Business. The program is focused on the fields of business and management; part of the program involves an internship at an Austrian company focused on in Central and Eastern Europe.
