Post-Holiday Open House in xPORT
On Tuesday, 6th of October, the first Open House of the new academic year will take place in xPORT, the VŠE Business Accelerator. During this event, students and graduates from the VŠE can present their own business projects. The xPORT Board will then choose the best projects. This will give the project presenters the chance to boost their business activities within the university based accelerator, as well as with the support of the VŠE.
The xPort VŠE Business Accelerator was opened by the VŠE in January, 2015, at Jarov campus. xPort supports entrepreneurial endeavours while cooperating with the business sphere. The incubation program (iPORT), which was designed for business projects at an earlier stage, has run 11 projects. Another 3 projects have gone through the aPORT acceleration program. This was designed to help and support more advanced start-ups. Currently, there are 7 projects are involved in both programs. The Open House, which will take place this October, is an opportunity for others to participate.
Application for participation in this program is conditional on at least one team member being a student, graduate or employee of VŠE. The expert jury; the xPort Board, – consisting of Gabriel Berdár, Blanka Sawkins, Martin Kešner and Štěpán Alexa; will then decide whether or not to accept the team for participation. Teams who are interested in participating in xPort should register HERE before the Open House event takes place.
The Open House event will be held on Tuesday, October 6 from 3 p.m. in xPort, Jeseniova 2769/208, Praha 3. From 6 p.m. there will be a possibility for students who don’t work on an own business project but who would like to join some ongoing startup. Startups working now in xPORT are looking for new members of their teams.
Teams which succeed in October’s Open House event. will have the opportunity to participate in xPort Demo Day (more about the last Demo Day here) in January. Demo Day is the day on which the projects are presented in front of partners and investors. The winning team will receive a prize of CZK 20 000.
