Dr. Kataryna Shymanska, head of the Department of Digital Economy and International Economic Relation at Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University, has been working at the Department of International Economic Relations of the Faculty of International Relations (FIR) since April 1, 2022 as a visiting professor. Dr. Shymanska is preparing two courses: World Economy and Digital Economy, which will be offered to a group of Ukrainian students who came to VŠE after the outbreak of the war. The courses will be taught in English with possible support in Ukrainian. For the winter semester, dr. Shymanska will participate in bachelor’s degree seminars and will be involved in the LMS (Learning Management System) implementation team with which she has experience from her home university.
FIR is actively involved in helping students and academics who have had to flee Ukraine due to the war. Dean of the Faculty of International Relations doc. Ing. Josef Taušer, Ph.D. adds: “More people from Ukraine turned to us and we are very happy that we managed to accept dr. Shymanska on April 1, 2022, who will be involved in our courses, research and some project activities. We mediated work to another colleague at another institution, and we are still negotiating with one more.”
