Over 420 students from more than 40 countries are joining the exchange programme at the VŠE in the winter semester 2024.
It is with great pleasure that 421 incoming exchange students from 48 different countries are arriving to study at the VŠE this week before the official start of the winter semester! This week students will be getting to know their studies and each other during Orientation Week.
This week’s programme consists of a range of practical and interactive activities. Students will attend essential administrative meetings, lectures and workshops. They will also gain insight into Czech history, learn about culture shock and how to deal with it, and learn useful Czech phrases in the Czech language crash course.
To help them cope with life in an international environment, students can take part in a workshop on intercultural competences. They can also learn about the services offered by the VŠE library and student clubs at VŠE. Towards the end of Orientation Week, students will take part in a team game at the VŠE to help them discover the campus and its other services.
At the same time, the student organization ESN VSE Prague organizes many side events to help exchange students make new friends and get to know Prague and Czech culture. ESN also pairs exchange students with Czech students through the Buddy programme to support them throughout their stay.
Finally, the international students will receive an official welcome in the Vencovsky Auditorium, which includes a performance by our Gaudeamus folklore ensemble.
The VŠE is delighted to have such a large community of exchange students coming from our partner universities each semester and wishes the students an enjoyable and enriching stay in Prague!
