The VŠE Hockey Team was placed third at the Hockey Battle of Universities in Prague
One day before a national holiday, on 27th October, a traditional hockey battle amongst teams from the Czech University of Life Science, Prague, the Czech Technical University, Prague, Charles University, Prague and the University of Economics, Prague, took place in the Tipsport Arena.
The first challenger met by the University of Economics, Prague was the Charles University team. The University of Economics, Prague maintained its five-year tradition of never beating the Charles University team, with the final result 0:3. Next battle for third place was against the Czech University of Life Science team. Thanks to Ondřej Fousek and Daniel Záhora, who scored two goals, and the goal keeper Adam Uhlík, the final result was 2:0 for the University of Economics, Prague, gaining them the bronze. The gold medal went to Charles University, while the Czech Technical University took the silver.
The team of the University of Economics, Prague had great support from students and representatives of the university. The opening bully-off of both matches was executed by the Rector, Prof. Hana Machková, who stood opposite the Vice-Rector of Charles University, Prof. Martin Kovář, and the Rector of the Czech University of Life Science, Prof. Jiří Balík.
