Doc. Václav Petříček from the VŠE awarded with the Medal of Merit of the First Grade
Upon the occasion of the national holiday on 28th October, 2015, the president of the Czech Republic, Mr. Miloš Zeman, awarded national orders to 35 public figures. Václav Petříček from the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Economics, Prague [VŠE] was one of them. He received the Medal of Merit for his contributions to the sphere of Science.
The renowned mathematician and economist is a former First Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry. Since 2007 he has held the function of president of the board of directors of the Chamber for Commercial Relations with the Commonwealth of Independent States. He also participated in foundation of the Czech Export Bank, as well as the CzechInvest and CzechTrade agencies. He is also a holder of the Order of St. Gregory the Great. At the University of Economics he lectures on international economic relations.
The representatives of the University of Economics, Prague, as well as of its Faculty of International Relations extend their heartiest congratulations to Václav Petříček, upon the occasion of his being conferred with this great honor.
