Partnership University of the French MBA Program celebrates 60 years
The IAE Lyon School of Management, at the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, has launched the celebration of the 60 year anniversary of its establishment by organizing a week of international activities. As part of the International Week 2016 there were 88 seminars held, in which 63 visiting professors, from 25 countries, gave lectures. The University of Economics, Prague, organized 5 seminars, of which four took place in the week from 4th January, 2016 in Lyon, while one of them took place in Prague.
The University of Economics, Prague, has been cooperating with the IAE Lyon for 25 years. This successful cooperation began within the framework of the French-Czech Institute of Management (IFTG) during the realization of the MBA Program in French, which now has over 600 francophone graduates.
MBA – Master Management et Administration des Entreprises graduates find employment mostly in French companies. This study program was historically the first accredited program of the IAE Lyon and in 2016 it also celebrates 60 years anniversary of its successful existence. The IFTG also organized an international seminar which took place outside Lyon (another one was held by the HEM Business School Maroc). 28 French students, who are on Master’s programs, took part in the seminar on the topic Doing business in the Czech Republic.
Four seminars in Lyon were organized by the Department of International Business of the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Economics, Prague, whose lecturers are regular guests at the partner University. The Head of the Department Petr Král led two seminars on International Marketing Communication with the Emphasis on Central Europe, Ludmila Štěrbová taught World Trade and Investing Rules – Creating the Business Environment, while Radek Čajka spoke about International Financial Management.
Another important part of the program was the International Advisory Board meeting. The Rector, Prof. Hana Machková is a member of this board since 2014. Also, the MIB EPAS Consortium held a meeting for universities with the prestigious accreditation EPAS. MIB EPAS Consortium was established in June 2015 as a result of a meeting organized by the University of Economics, Prague. Members of the Consortium are the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vaasa (Finland), the IAE Lyon School of Management, the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 (France), the RISEBA – Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration (Latvia), the School of Business, Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland), the Sheffield Business School, Sheffield Hallam University (UK) and the University of Economics, Prague. The main goals of the Consortium are the development of cooperation in the area of student exchanges, double degree programs, cooperation in the Science and Research area and, last but not least, strengthening the renown of the EPAS accreditation.
