On Wednesday, 11th May, 2016, a festival of promising business projects will take place at the University of Economics, Prague (the VŠE). The event, which is called the Startup Festival is organised by the xPORT Business Accelerator.
Just beginning and already established startup projects will get the opportunity to present their activities and to expand their teams. To the students and graduates the festival will offer the unique opportunity to become part of a quickly developing startup scene. The biggest attractions are:
- Google,
- Airbnb,
- Uber,
- Microsoft,
- Skypicker,
- and many other interesting startups.
The festival is designed not only for active students and graduates of the VŠE, ČZU, ČVUT and other Prague universities, but also for the representatives of the business sphere who are interested in the startup scene and entrepreneurship. Besides the main program, a rich accompanying program has also been prepared. It will be full of panel discussions, lectures, training and seminars hosted by interesting guests. Right in the venue participants may consult their plans with experts from the areas of business, investment, law, social business etc. Here are just a few examples:

- individual consultations, for instance, about your business plan with a VC investor,
- workshop on the topic of “How to succeed in the food business”,
- and even more from the accompanying program.
„The Startup Festival is a unique event of its kind,” says the marketing manager of xPORT Business Accelerator, Libor Uhlík. “In xPORT we want to create a startup community and develop the business environment for active people. Meanwhile, we realised there is no such a thing as startup festival and we were surprised by this discovery.” He furthermore said that creating the Startup Festival was an inherent consequence of this thinking. “Because this is a zero year we are full of anticipation and, at the same time, we look forward to what the festival will bring,” Libor Uhlík concluded.
The Startup Festival will take place on Wednesday, 11th May, from 9 am to 4.30 pm in the Rajská Building of the University of Economics, Prague.
