New Director of Development and Counselling Centre

With the effect from September 1, 2011, the new director of Development and Counselling Centre, Jiří Knap, has been appointed to his function by the President of VŠE, prof. Richard Hindls. The main goal of the Center is to develop cooperation with business and to promote job offers among students and alumni.

Jiří Knap is a graduate of the University of Economics, Prague. He studied at the Faculty of Production and Economics, an ancestor of the Faculty of Business Administration. Until 1990 he worked especially in the field of business administration. Between years 1990 – 2000 he worked in various positions as Product Manager in the joint venture of public company Postal and Telecommunications Services, together with PTT Telecom Netherlands, and Business Manager and Sales Director for business group companies TELECOMSPOL, Co. Ltd., OptiKom.cz, Co. Ltd., WIRELESSCOM, Co.Ltd, MODATA, Corp. Since 2000 until August 2011 he was leading the consulting company OptiKom.Cz, Co. Ltd., as Executive Director. During his career, especially in the last 20 years, he led and implemented many projects both in public administration and in banking, finance, business and commercial sector. Jiří Knap is fluent in English, German and Russian.
