Jitka Bartoníčková is a student of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, University of Economics, Prague (VŠE). In addition, she is successful sports delegate of the Czech Republic. Together with her team-mates from the training group “Rychlý holky“, she took part in London 2012 Summer Olympics. The team finished seventh in the women´s 4×400 m relay final. A month earlier, the very same relay team won the bronze medal at the European Athletics Championships 2012 in Helsinki.

Jitka Bartoníčková says: “Olympic games were such an experience for me. To have a chance of representing the Czech Republic at the global sports event, it is a dream of any athlete. It was the premiere for me. In comparison to the European or the World Athletics Championships, the Olympics were extraordinary in terms of meeting sportsmen from other sport branches. By competing at the Olympics, I had the opportunity to stay in the Olympics village. It was completely secured area. Only the sports competitors with their accompaniment, organizing team members and the Olympics volunteers had the access to enter. There were thousands of the volunteers at the Olympics. All of them were friendly and helpful. In the village, we had everything we needed – canteen, gym, gift shops, post office, hospital, florist´s, hairdresser´s, internet access area, kids corner etc. London 2012 Summer Olympics were extremely well organized and visited by lots of eager sports fans. There were 80 thousand of them at the Olympics Stadium itself! Well, with that you can run almost like “on your own accord”.
