Uniqway Goes Further and Brings News to Users
The Uniqway student carsharing in the academic year 2020/21, despite the anti-epidemic restrictions, functioned successfully and continues to do so. The whole team providing the carsharing service for students adapted to the situation and brought a number of innovations.
“The key for us has always been and is to provide our users with a safe and affordable way to travel, even in difficult situations. Therefore, we opened a large zone in the center of Prague, supported the collection of vehicles to places with high user demand and strengthened their regular inspection, cleaning and disinfection,” describes Jan Machart, a student at the Faculty of International Relations and a member of Uniqway’s marketing team.
As last year, Uniqway joined the #SKODAAUTOpomaha project and supported front-line healthcare professionals. At the same time, it established cooperation with the Czech Red Cross and offered students the opportunity to participate in the delivery of medical staff. “A total of twelve students-volunteer took part in this event, who drove almost 5,000 km with our cars,” says Jan Machart.
Uniqway is also working on technological development, for example, online registration has been facilitated, and is gradually expanding its fleet. In May, it expanded with the ŠKODA ENYAQ iV, the latest electric car from ŠKODA AUTO. “The major expansion of the Uniqway fleet began in November last year, when we added two new ŠKODA CITIGOe iV electric vehicles to service. At Christmas, we gave users three new ŠKODA SCALAs and in the spring we expanded our fleet with eleven new ŠKODA FABIAs. At present, we offer thirty-eight cars,” explains Jan Machart. Not only the types of cars, but also their appearance have changed. The original design has been replaced by new stickers. In addition, each vehicle represents a unique slogan.
With Uniqway cars, it is also possible to go abroad again. And at the end of the semester, the service was also opened to university graduates, who can thus continue their journey with Uniqway smoothly.
