More than 280 students from over 40 countries coming to study in the Exchange programme at VŠE during the 2024 Spring Semester

We are excited to welcome the 286 incoming exchange students from 44 countries coming to study at VSE during the 2024 Spring Semester. The VSE International Office has organised Orientation Week at the beginning of the semester to help the students with their preparations for the beginning of their upcoming studies at VSE.

The Orientation Week programme consisted of various practical and useful online activities, part of which were focused on the necessary administration. On the more interactive side, the students could learn about culture shock and how to best survive it during the Culture Shock session, learn some useful Czech phrases to get by like a local during the Czech Language Crash Course or gain a deeper understanding of the Czech historical context during the History of the Czech Lands session. Moreover, students learned about all the possibilities provided by the VSE library services, and those determined to understand better how to live in an international environment had the opportunity to join the Intercultural Competences seminar.

Simultaneously, the ESN VSE Prague organization hosted numerous in-person events aiming to help exchange students meet new friends and discover both Prague´s hidden gems and the Czech culture. The exchange students were also paired with local students via the Buddy Programme organized by ESN VSE Prague, which offers them support throughout their stay in Prague.

Last but not least, we were excited to meet the exchange students personally during the Welcome Ceremony in Vencovského aula, and we thank the VSE folk group Gaudeamus for the programme they have prepared.

VSE is happy to see that every semester there is a large population of exchange students coming to VSE and wishes the students both pleasant studies and an enjoyable stay in Prague.
