Volleyball team of the Prague University of Economics and Business shines at the EuroMilano 2024 tournament

On May 2-5, 2024, the volleyball team of the VŠE took part in the EuroMilano international university tournament in Milan. Our students achieved outstanding results and represented our school in an excellent manner.
The women’s team consisting of Marie Miková (FPH), Ivana Kaňková (FFU), Nikola Faistaverová (FPH), Anna Suchá (FMV), Eliška Trunečková (FMV), Eliška Janovská (FMV), Kateřina Samuelová (FMV), Magda Pavlíková (FFU) and Lucie Růžičková (NF) showed excellent performances at the tournament. After successfully advancing from the group, the team made it through to the final, where they defeated the Belgian team from Ghent and secured the gold cup.

Our students also celebrated success in the beach volleyball tournament. The pair of Eliška Trunečková and Ivana Kaňková followed up last year’s victory and again dominated the whole tournament. Just below the stage of winners in 4th place finished another pair from VŠE Magda Pavlíková and Nikola Faistaverová.

The men’s team did not do so well in the six-man volleyball, but they nevertheless represented VŠE valiantly. In the group they defeated the team from Lebanon, but it was not enough to advance. In beach volleyball Jan Větrovec and Igor Čurila won a very nice 4th place.

Apart from the sporting performances, our students also enjoyed exploring Milan and the evening social events of the tournament.
