VŠE signed a memorandum on the application of the EcoCampus methodology

On Tuesday, 17 December 2024, a memorandum of cooperation in the field of sustainability was signed between the VŠE and the TEREZA Education Centre, the main objective of which is to apply the EcoCampus methodology, of which the TEREZA Education Centre is a holder of in the Czech Republic.

The Memorandum was signed by the Rector, Assoc. professor Ing. Petr Dvořák, Ph.D., together with Mgr. Barbara Semeráková, Director of the TEREZA Educational Centre.

What does the memorandum address?

TEREZA, educational centre, z.ú. and the Prague University of Economics and Business want to jointly contribute to education and research in the field of sustainability and to connect the non-profit sector and academia in this area in order to develop talent for sustainability. Through this cooperation, the parties enter into a Strategic University-wide Partnership for Sustainability and the fulfilment of the goals of the Sustainability Strategy of the VŠE. To build and spread the know-how and awareness of the EcoSchool and EcoCampus programme to other universities.

Based on the operation piloting and development of the EcoCampus programme in the VŠE context, both institutions will particularly seek to involve students in decision-making on sustainability issues on VŠE campuses.

Sustainability at VŠE

The Memorandum is the second contractual commitment of the VŠE in the framework of the NPO Green Deal. Already in September, a memorandum was signed between VŠE and the national platform Business Leaders Forum on cooperation in the field of corporate sustainability.
